2006/42/EC

EC type-examination for certain Annex IV machinery under the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Transition period

2006/42/EC will be repealed on 20 January 2027 and replaced by the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. Until that date, we carry out EC type-examination for machinery within our scope.

Our scope of services

Scope

EC type-examination (Annex IX) for Annex IV machinery within our scope of accreditation:

  • Annex IV-9: Presses, including press-brakes, for the cold working of metals, with manual loading and/or unloading, whose movable working parts may have a travel exceeding 6 mm and a speed exceeding 30 mm/s
  • Annex IV-10: Injection or compression plastics-moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  • Annex IV-11: Injection or compression rubber-moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  • Annex IV-16: Vehicle servicing lifts
  • Annex IV-17: Devices for the lifting of persons or of persons and goods involving a hazard of falling from a vertical height of more than 3 m
  • Annex IV-20: Power-operated interlocking movable guards designed to be used as guards in the machinery referred to in points 9, 10 and 11

Assessment

The technical file is reviewed; the machine is examined using checklists against the product-specific type-C harmonised standard and the essential health and safety requirements. Electrical tests are carried out by our authorised experts. The assessment is not completed until nonconformities have been corrected.
