Product certification
As a notified body (NB 2422), we carry out conformity assessment of gas appliances, machinery and hot-water boilers against EU legislation. The CE marking is affixed to the product by the manufacturer; our role is to issue the certificate required under the relevant module.

Our certification process is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.

Application and review
The application form is received; scope, competence, equipment and impartiality are assessed.

Contract
An accepted request is formalised in a CE certification contract.

Assessment
Technical documentation review, product examination, testing and, where necessary, on-site audit.

Review and decision
The decision is made by an authorised person who was not involved in the assessment.

Certificate and surveillance
The certificate is issued; the surveillance required by the module is carried out.
What you need to know
- An application for the same product may be lodged with only one notified body; this is obtained as a written declaration in the application.
- Tests are primarily carried out in our laboratories; for tests outside our scope, an accredited external laboratory is used and you are informed.
- Suspension and withdrawal decisions are notified to the notifying authority; you have the right to appeal against decisions.
